Eclipse Evo Microneedling in New Jersey
Collagen is an incredible substance. The body’s natural restorative protein can correct uneven skin, acne scars, wrinkles, and other signs of facial aging. Microneedling encourages your body to promote more collagen by triggering your natural healing response with near-microscopic punctures in the treatment area. Now, thanks to Eclipse’s new Evo microneedling New Jersey Plastic Surgery’s team of trained aesthetic specialists can deliver this incredible treatment with incredible accuracy.
The Evo Micropen is the latest innovation in microneedling from Eclipse. This versatile micropen is portable, wireless, and incredibly versatile. It allows our specialists to deliver incredibly accurate treatments across the face and body, expanding our ability to repair your damaged skin.
What are the benefits of Evo Microneedling?
Evo Microneedling primarily targets facial acne scars. However, the micropen’s precise delivery system allows our providers to dial in specific depths for each application to increase collagen production.
This offers wide-ranging benefits that go beyond facial acne scars. Increased collagen production can improve the skin’s overall appearance, reduce melasma (discolorations), lessen the visibility of wrinkles, shrink pores, fade stretch marks, and firm up the skin. Got questions? Schedule a consultation for Evo microneedling at New Jersey Plastic Surgery. We’d be happy to look at your skin and determine if microneedling or one of our other treatments might help improve your look.
Evo is an FDA-cleared 510(k) Class II medical device, which means it is safe for use for most people. One of the perks of Evo (and microneedling in general) is that there are not the same restrictions on skin types as there are with other skin rejuvenation treatments.
Most adults in good health (free from rashes, fevers, or active infections) can benefit from its use. We do not recommend microneedling for women who are pregnant or nursing, patients with active skin conditions (eczema or rosacea), or patients with lupus or vitiligo. If you tend to produce keloid scars when injured, please let us know, as you may not be a good candidate for EVO microneedling. During your consultation, the New Jersey Plastic Surgery team will review your medical history before treatment to make sure you get the correct procedure for your needs.
The actual Evo Microneedling procedure takes about 15 minutes to complete per treatment area, making it a quick and comfortable way to improve your look.
First, our trained aesthetic specialists will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to minimize discomfort during the procedure. Once the cream has taken effect, they will adjust the Evo Microneedling pen to the appropriate depth, then place it over the treatment area, triggering microscopic punctures with each stamp. These punctures allow increased collagen to build up in the area as it heals. These punctures can range from half a millimeter to as deep as two millimeters, depending on the type of scar or area of the face. Following the treatment, our aesthetic specialists analyze your skin and recommend salves and lotions that can “calm down” the skin and promote healing.
Following your treatment, your skin will look like you’ve had a bad sunburn for the next day or two. This appearance can usually be masked with makeup, and you can wash your face eight hours after your treatment. In most cases, our New Jersey Evo Microneedling patients will see some redness and swelling for three days after treatment, though it may take up to twelve days to heal completely. We recommend scheduling your microneedling treatments about two weeks before any significant event to make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to recover.
Once the swelling and redness go away, you’ll begin to notice more even, healthier skin begin to appear.
Because microneedling works by improving collagen production, these improvements will reveal themselves gradually over time. You’ll see that your skin looks better and better as the weeks and months pass following your treatment. While you will notice improvements after a single treatment, in most cases, we recommend a protocol of at least three individual treatments to maximize your Evo microneedling results.

You will have numbing cream applied to minimize any discomfort during your procedure. You may experience some tenderness in the days following your treatment, but most patients find it to be tolerable with over-the-counter medications.
Evo Microneedling is an affordable alternative to more invasive procedures. Your cost will vary depending on the size and scope of your treatment. Our team will prepare a detailed estimate for you to consider before beginning any work, so you know exactly what to expect.
Insurance typically does not cover microneedling. New Jersey Plastic Surgery offers financing options to qualified applicants to help with expenses.
