Cellulite is one of the most common skin conditions in women. In fact, nearly 90 percent of women have some amount of visible cellulite on their bodies. It is also one of the hardest conditions to treat because (contrary to popular belief) cellulite is not just fat. This makes it hard to get rid of, even with a strict diet and workout regimen.
To combat stubborn cellulite, Dr. DiBernardo now offers his New Jersey patients QWO. QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injection treatment to help visibly reduce moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks within a few months of treatment.
Due to its nature as an injection, the process of receiving QWO treatments can take as few as 10 minutes, allowing you to come in for a treatment and leave shortly thereafter, with no post-treatment downtime.
Visible results can be achieved in 10 weeks as your body produces more collagen as a result of the injections. As the fibrous septae that cause skin dimpling relax, you can expect to see visible reductions in cellulite dimpling in the buttocks. Long-term studies of QWO are ongoing, but all indications are that QWO can last for years with no reduction in effects once treatment is completed.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
Many who deal with cellulite on their bodies have tried to get rid of it with diet, massages, or lasers. However, because our bodies do not use cellulite fat as a fuel source, it can be near impossible to improve cellulite’s appearance through even strict diets and exercise.
Thankfully, almost anyone who has cellulite is a candidate, as the process is simple, non-surgical, and requires no downtime. If you are allergic to collagenase or any of the ingredients in QWO, or if you have an active infection, you should not receive QWO. You should also let Dr. DiBernardo know if you are pregnant or nursing before you begin your treatment.
Dr. DiBernardo and his staff can assist you with what to expect during the post-treatment process as part of your consultation. They will also do a full review of your medical history to determine if QWO is safe for you.
The process for a QWO treatment is extremely convenient and quick.
The area will first be marked up with a marker on the target areas, followed by the injections. Anesthesia is not necessary, as the process is relatively painless thanks to the extra ‘cushion’ our buttocks have. Once the injections have been completed, you can leave the office and continue about your day as you normally would – no downtime necessary!
As with most injection treatments, there is a small risk of slight swelling and bruising at the injection site. Bruising typically lasts up to one or two weeks, so you might want to plan accordingly – perhaps save that pool day for a bit later!
The full QWO treatment typically consists of an injection into the treatment area every three weeks, for a total of three visits. Results are often quite noticeable following a single treatment, but the best outcomes come from the full treatment being completed. After the final treatment, you will see a noticeable reduction in cellulite as the fibrous bands loosen and collagen production increases. These results should last for years following treatment.
