Sofwave is a nonsurgical and noninvasive, yet incredibly effective way to smooth facial lines and wrinkles. Ultrasound Beam Technology™, the proprietary ultrasound technology utilized by Sofwave, is designed to penetrate below the skin’s surface, into the mid-dermal tissue, where it stimulates collagen and elastin to increase facial volume.
Sofwave is used to treat fine lines and deep wrinkles throughout the neck and face, allowing the treatment to diminish or eliminate wrinkles at the corner of the mouth, on the cheeks, and across the forehead in addition to those on the throat and chin. A majority of patients see results after just one treatment, though it may take up to 12 weeks for full results to be realized.
Is Sofwave Treatment Permanent?
Sofwave treatment can significantly reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen and elastin. Production of both of these proteins diminishes as we age and, even with assistance from a cosmetic treatment, the march of time is inevitable. However, results from Sofwave may be longer lasting than other nonsurgical options. Much of this depends on your goals, your health, and the current state of your skin.
You can help to maintain your results by taking proper care of your skin. Facial cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and sunscreen use can all work to extend your Sofwave results. So too can limiting sun exposure, refraining from tobacco use, and making sure you get plenty of sleep.
Taking care of your body helps to prevent some of the issues that can contribute to premature aging. These same steps might help to extend nonsurgical facial rejuvenation results.
Is Sofwave Different Then Ultherapy?
Sofwave penetrates into the mid-dermal layer. Ultherapy penetrates a bit deeper. While studies have found no notable difference in efficacy between the two treatments, there is some evidence that Sofwave may be better for patients who are prone to certain side-effects.
