What is Mohs Surgery?
Mohs surgery, or Micrographic Surgical Technique (MMS), is a highly successful method for skin cancer removal.
The procedure is most often used for removing the two most common types of skin cancer: basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma.
The malignant tumor is removed in stages, and each of the sections removed are examined under a microscope. If cancer is detected, an additional section of tissue is removed until no cancer remains. Cure rates are reportedly 96%-99%.
