What are Keloids?
Keloids are considered benign tumors, or abnormal proliferations of scar tissue that develop because of injury to the skin. This kind of tumor is not at risk for becoming malignant. Having keloids is experienced mainly as a cosmetic nuisance and source of tenderness that can cause limited mobility and psychological distress.

There is no known cause for this type of tumor, but they are contingent on skin injuries such as:
